At the recent Microsoft Ignite conference, Microsoft announced the first Feature Pack for SharePoint 2016. Feature Pack 1 will allow for the accelerated delivery of cloud-first features, along with many new capabilities for administrators and users. Included among these are a more insightful granular logging, enhancements to MinRole for more flexible topologies, updates to OneDrive for Business to provide a place for users to easily manage and share documents, and more. With the new Feature Packs, enterprises who have deployed SharePoint on-premises can benefit from the innovative new work done with Office 365 without the need to wait for the next major update several years in the future.
Feature Pack 1 will be released in November, 2016, and will be free for all to download. For more information, see the official announcement on the Microsoft SharePoint Team Blog.Tags
